What you need is a method to always be in front of your customer with a relevant useful direct method of getting them to think of you first for your product group. Your business card, your yellow page listing, your web site, your logo, your unique selling proposition are all good…but only if they see them enough times to make the connection with you and your product. They need to be reminded of why your company is the best choice for their hard earned money.

Putting your advertising dollars to work in an “attractive” way can only mean on thing. Magnets attract money. Money that will be spent for your product as long as the customer has your information near at hand. Let us magnetize your market.

It  is a well known fact that the world, the United States especially, spends  a lot of time in the kitchen.  Now you may be wondering what that means to you as a business owner looking for marketing tips that may benefit the company.

No matter what you are selling, the main idea is to get the name of your business out there and to get it out there enough so that people will continue to see the name again and again so that when the topic of conversation takes a turn towards your line of work, the first name that pops in their mind will be your business.

How do you accomplish that? Its as easy as refrigerator magnets. Seems simple enough right? Well it is. Having your business cards printed out as refrigerator magnets is an  easy way to insure that people will see your name, the name of your business and think of your product when it they need it . With Americas saying that the kitchen is one of the most used rooms in their home, they also spend more time in front of the refrigerator. This makes it a prime location for  marketing  your business.

Almost every refrigerator in the country has magnets. When these magnets have your business information on it, it is an inexpensive way to boost your business. I refer to magnets I received from businesses all the time. They are a lot easier to locate than plain cards, although sometimes business magnets are used to hold cards that are not magnetized. In other words lucky companies are piggy-backing on the magnets of other companies.

The concept of magnets is similar to an auto or motorcycle dealer having their name on the license plate frames and giving you key chains with the name of the business on each. I think it would be a wonderful idea for auto dealers and motorcycle dealers to give out magnets, although I recall none that are doing so, in the dealers I have across.

These magnets are the cheapest way to advertise. The name of the business, its telephone and fax number and its website are on these magnets. Sometimes they are difficult to locate because of the multitude of magnets, but it is always somewhere on the refrigerator door or sides. Some refrigerators do not hold magnets. Those people will be lost to the magnetic advertisers.

So, you send a Save The Date! And, guess what? Sometimes, that Save The Date that you took so much time designing, printing, addressing and stamping gets, well, put away…in a drawer…forgotten. Not what you want!

That’s why a magnetic Save The Date will spare your precious reminder from seeing Aunt Tilly’s junk drawer. When your Save The Date is on the refrigerator or filing cabinet, it is in front of your guests on a regular basis and doing its job – reminding! A Magnetic Save The Date will not cost you more but it will do it’s job better than the paper version any day. More importantly, your day will be saved – all the people you love will be there because how could they forget?

There are options for color that are useful. For example, card stock does not have to be pure white; there are other business card papers that can help the business card gain attention. A good ivory, a texture, or sometimes a colored paper can be impressive and memorable. Use color sparingly, but wisely. Text should be as large as possible for the company name, with a smaller size used for the contact information.

Standard sizes are basic, but there are options for larger cards, and fold over cards that will hold more information. A problem could arise if the finished size is non-standard and will not easily fit into wallets, Rolodex files, or business card holders.

This is why you might want to consider using something different than a standard business card. Business cards that are in more than just the traditional format can serve your business well. You may consider adding these or replacing your current business card. A magnetic business card or a calendar with your business information are two great non traditional choices. No matter what you choose remember to view samples, and use what looks and works  best for your business.

If I didn’t have the capability, of putting important phone number’s on speed dial, my hands-on, visible, “cheat sheet” would be a great stand-by. This enables more productivity. If I need a plumber, I have one at my fingertips. If I need a pest control company, I’m dialing. Magnetic business cards, perpetually and permanently advertise business services, providing you deliver good services! Most magnetic business cards are not filed under G, for garbage. Other’s who visit the workstation may ask about the magnetic card; if they need a service or are looking to purchase goods. The magnet could also hold up other important papers, like carryout lunch menus!

As an individual, I find it very handy to keep magnetic business cards on the side of my refrigerator. Again, it is a convenient and faster way to call to get an appointment for service or to purchase goods. Pulling out the phone book or finding my personal address/phone book is cumbersome and time consuming. Putting the business on speed dial is an option, but those numbers are generally reserved for family and friends. The magnet business card could also generate questions, if guests should see it. In addition, it could be used to hang up a child’s drawing on the refrigerator or a quick call for Friday night pizza!
